This level is intended for children 4+.
Before entering Fish 3, kids must be able to push off the wall short distances to an instructor, be comfortable transitioning from their stomach to their back, and able to float on their back without help of the instructor.
The primary goals of Fish 3 are to learn to transition from stomach to back to breathe in freestyle. In this level we will introduce the basics of breaststroke. In waterbabies, parents will work with babies in the water. The goal is to get babies more comfortable in the water before beginning group lessons. In Fish 4, we work primarily on technique for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. We will help kids learn to breathe to the side on freestyle, proper kicking for backstroke, correct arm pulls for breaststroke, and much more!

The extended format is spread out over 2 1/2 weeks on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings to help accommodate busy schedules. American Red Cross Lifeguarding course teaches participants to recognize and respond to aquatics emergencies, prevent drowning and care for injuries. This blended learning, extended format course will have online learning portions that will need to be completed in between class days (homework). The total of online portions is approximately 7 hours. Links for the online portion will be sent 5 days prior to the first day of class. Portions of the training will be off site at another facility. Also includes First Aid/CPR/AED training.
Prerequisites are:
1. Be at Least
15 years old.
2. Swim 300 yard continuously using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, demonstrating rhythmic breathing and breath control.
3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs and hands under the armpits.
4. Swim a distance of 25 yards dive 7-10' retrieve a 10lb object return to surface swim back to starting point with object out of the water and exit water without using ladder or stairs within 1 minute 40 seconds.

Before entering Fish 4, kids must know freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke. They should be comfortable transitioning from their stomach to their back for a breath during freestyle. This class has a capacity to ensure proper instructor to participant ratios.

In Fish 4, we work primarily on technique for freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. We will help kids learn to breathe to the side on freestyle, proper kicking for backstroke, correct arm pulls for breaststroke, and much more!

Waterbabies

Waterbabies

Description
This level is intended for children 6 months - 3 years.
In waterbabies, parents will work with babies in the water. The goal is to get babies more comfortable in the water before beginning group lessons. We play games, sing songs, and have fun while learning water safety. We will practice becoming comfortable kicking, splashing, and putting faces in the water to blow bubbles.
Once the class is full, participants will be placed on a standby list for this reason there will be a $5 fee for participants registered who do not show up. Guests fee if $6 per class is included in the non member price.
